Welcome to My Corner of the Internet: A Whole Person’s Space
In a world that often demands we compartmentalize—work in one box, personal life in another, passions tucked away somewhere else—I’ve chosen a different path. This website is not just for my professional work as a clinical social worker, financial social worker, writer, and thinker. It’s also a space where I show up as a whole person. I don’t believe in fracturing my identity into isolated shards for the sake of neatness or expectation. Instead, I embrace what I practice and teach: healthy boundaries over rigid separations.
That means this site is both a professional resource and a personal connection point. New patients can request appointments, and long-time friends can request coffee—whether virtual or in person. Colleagues can explore my research and writing, while those who just want to know what I’ve been up to can find updates on my latest projects, musings, and creative work.
Why a Combined Site?
Some professionals draw strict lines between their work and their personal lives, keeping their digital presence entirely job-focused. That makes sense for many people, but I’ve found that my work and my life are deeply interconnected. I write, think, and create from the same place—whether it’s clinical social work, financial justice, political graffiti, or my love of coffee and cows. All of these aspects influence and shape each other.
I also believe that human connection doesn’t have to be transactional. I don’t want my professional site to feel like a cold waiting room where the only purpose is booking services. Nor do I want my personal presence to feel like something separate, hidden away. The people I work with—whether clients, colleagues, or friends—know that I bring my full self into every interaction.
Instead of trying to curate different versions of myself for different audiences, I’m offering something more authentic: a space where I can exist as a whole person, with clear boundaries but without artificial walls.
What You Can Do Here
This site is designed to be both useful and welcoming. Depending on why you’re here, you can:
Stay in the Loop – Whether it’s blog posts, updates, or thoughts on the world, this site is where I share what’s on my mind and what I’m working on.
Schedule an Appointment – If you’re seeking therapy or financial social work services, you can request a session. Whether you’re a new or returning client, this is the place to start.
Request Coffee Time – Friends, family, and colleagues can reach out for a virtual or in-person coffee catch-up. I believe in making time for connection outside of work, and this is one way to keep that door open.
Explore My Work – You’ll find my writing, research, and creative projects here, from published work to political graffiti to social work policy analysis.
Boundaries, Not Barriers
By keeping my professional and personal presence in one place, I’m not erasing the distinctions between different roles—I’m honoring them while recognizing they are all part of a larger whole. Healthy boundaries are not the same as artificial separations. Here, you’ll find clarity and intention: professional services when needed, personal connection when wanted, and a shared space where my work and life intersect in meaningful ways.
If you’re here for business, welcome. If you’re here for friendship, welcome. If you’re just curious about what I’m working on, welcome.
This is a space where I show up as a whole human. I hope you’ll feel welcome to do the same.
